Julie Sinkins: registered sports nutritionist specialising in youth sports nutrition

The heart behind Netgain Nutrition

I have seen how the right nutrition can make all the difference: helping young tennis players and athletes stay consistent, build confidence, and perform at their best.

At Netgain Nutrition, my approach is all about connection. I build trust with athletes and families by keeping things simple, practical, and realistic. With over 24 years of coaching experience and a Master’s in Sports Nutrition, I bridge the gap between science and everyday life.

Honesty, empathy, and education are at the core of my work.

I want young athletes and their parents to feel supported and understood, while learning how to make confident, informed nutrition choices.

By focusing on understanding and communication, I help build the foundations for healthy habits that last well beyond sport.

Based in Somerset, I cover the South West of England.

Professional expertise, personal experience

With over 24 years of experience as a professional tennis coach and a Master’s in Sports Nutrition, I specialise in helping young tennis players and athletes fuel for growth, recovery, and performance.

My background as both a former professional athlete and long-standing coach gives me a unique understanding of the physical and mental demands of sport.

Practical nutrition strategies

I work with young tennis player, athletes, parents, and coaches to turn nutrition science into simple, practical strategies that fit around busy training and school schedules. Whether it is creating tailored meal plans, guiding competition fuelling, or running workshops, my focus is always on education and connection.

Having coached national champions and supported players to achieve world rankings, I understand the demands of performance at every level.

I combine this experience with a practical, relationship-based approach, helping each athlete turn evidence-based advice into everyday habits that fuel energy, confidence, and long-term success, both on and off the court.

A bit about me

When I am not working, I love getting out on my road bike, usually with a coffee stop along the way and spending quality time with my family.

Together we enjoy football, cricket, paddle boarding, and any beach or board games.

Music is also a big part of my downtime, and every so often my daughter and I team up for a guitar and singing session.

"I started working with Julie when i was 10 and since then i have improved not only my tennis game but me as a person. She pushed me to work hard and taught me how to have a winner's mindset and how discipline is so important. We worked a lot on developing all aspects of the game (Forehand, Backhand, Serve, Return and volley)

My mental part, it was a weakness I had that I had to get rid of, Julie helped me a lot with that. Although it is a hard thing to master.

Before working with Julie I didn’t really know anything about nutrition… Only that I had to eat my greens. Julie taught me a lot about nutrition and how important it is as an athlete. I started to take nutrition very seriously and having knowledge about what to eat and when to eat it helped a lot. I also have an iron deficiency and I didn’t know what that meant and how I can change it but with Julie’s help I learnt exactly what to do and eat.

Perform better. Recover faster. Start your journey.

Good nutrition is the foundation for every goal.

Fuelling a tennis player or young athlete for training and competition helps them perform at their best, every day.

At Netgain Nutrition, I will help you turn knowledge into lasting habits that power health, confidence, and performance.
